UN recommendations “Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals”, 6th ed.

This edition was published in 2015 and it includes corrections of the previous edition, such as: new hazard class for desensitized explosives and flammable gases, additional clauses for specifying criteria of some hazard classes (explosives; specific selective toxicity targeting separate organs after single exposure; aspiration danger and aquatic environment danger), additional information to be included in Section 9 of SDS; reviewed and rationalized safety precautions, and a new example of small packages labeling.

UN-GHS recommendations, 4th ed.

Russian national legislation is harmonized with this edition in regards with chemicals hazard classification processes, SDS development and labeling.

Regulation No. 1907/2006 (REACH), 18.12.2006

Regulates processes of production, marketing and use of chemicals within the territory of EU. In particular, the Regulation establishes requirements of chemicals registration, technical dossiers assessment, permissions and restrictions of use or marketing, classification and labeling, as well as access conditions to information about them.

Регламент № 1272/2008 (CLP) от 16 декабря 2008 г.

Регламент по классификации опасности, маркировке и упаковке химических веществ и смесей, принятый в рамках внедрения Рекомендаций ООН-СГС в законодательство Евросоюза. Регламент CLP вступил в силу 20 января 2009 года, вносит поправки и дополняет Регламент № 1907/2006 (REACH), а с 1 июня 2015 года полностью заменил Директиву по опасным химическим веществам (67/548/ЕЕС) и Директиву по опасным препаратам (1999/45/ЕС).

Canadian system of workplace hazard informing under (Hazardous Products Regulation – HPR) and related regulations on controlled types of products. The system was first developed in 1988, and is currently harmonized with 5th ed. of UN-GHS

JIS Z 7252:2014

National Japanese standard on hazard classification and labeling of chemicals which is harmonized with 4th ed. of GHS, except some hazard classes. It was published on 25.03.2014 and is an update of 2009 edition (JIS Z 7252:2009). Currently only available in Japanese.

JIS Z 7253 Hazard communication of chemicals based on GHS-Labelling and Safety Data Sheet

National Japanese standard on SDS development which is a combination of JIS Z 7250 and JIS Z7251 and includes additional requirements for workplace labeling. Harmonized with 4th ed. of UN-GHS.

GB 13690-2009 General Rules for Classification and Hazard Communication of Chemicals

National Chinese standard on classification and hazard informing of chemicals, harmonized with 2nd ed. of GHS. In addition there are 28 standards harmonized with 4th ed. of the Purple book.

ISO 11014:2009

International standard on SDS content of chemicals. 2009 ed. replaces and cancels ISO 11014-1:1994 and is harmonized with 2nd ed. of UN-GHS.
